As featured on the University of San Carlos website:

A team of experts from the International Intellectual Property Institute (IIPI) of the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) visited the University on Friday, 12 April 2013 for the purpose of having a dialogue with USC officials and other stakeholders to raise awareness on the importance of the Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) initiatives and the value of technology capture and commercialization efforts to achieve sustainable economic development.

Dr. Stanley Kowalski, of the University of New Hampshire Law School, and Dr. Richard Cahoon, President of BioProperty Strategy Group, Inc., both consultants of IIPI, were part of a four-man team that visited selected ITSOs in the country. Kowalski and Cahoon, together with Mrs. Carmen Peralta of IPOPhl, were assigned to visit USC and two other ITSOs, namely Bicol University and the University of Santo Tomas, while the other team was assigned to visit three other institutions with ITSO, namely De la Salle University in Manila, Western Visayas State College of Science and Technology in Iloilo City, and University of Southeastern Philippines in Davao City.
